So then how goes the struggle for the poetic expression in the thickly clutered town of denver.
I've been running a small lit/poetry/art mag down here for the last few months called twenty3 (www.twenty3magazine.com) strangely enough while poets all across the world have been sending submissions only a couple people from denver thought to do so. I sometimes question whether we are forced to profer only the mercury cafe for a podium, and further more I am consistently surprised (not really) that poetry has so little to do with language construction and has taken on the slam. kills me to be honest. However, if any of you are interested in doing something with verse sometime give a write.
have fun

I was afraid I was the only one
Sun, March 26, 2006 - 1:16 PMyour honest remarks give me hope still...
this was written a few weeks ago but i believe it's a fitting response.
by the way, just another mad drunk poet looking for attention.
perhaps visit my blog?
I'll check your site.
'down with the dregs'
Cheap coffee at Denny’s
With the outcast dregs
Young and old
Fat and pretty
Ugly and thin
Is better than the $4.50 cup
Downtown ways
With the ‘elite’
The ‘learned’
The artists.
It’s better with the dread
And weary
Than the pretty beyond my means.
Better with the going no where
And don’t care
Punk
Fishnet
Got fairy tale betrayed
Than all the gold
All the tits
All the style
Anyway.
I’m sure it will all change
Once money
Gets more involved.
I’m sure at least
The coffee will get better.

Re: I was afraid I was the only one
Sun, May 28, 2006 - 11:05 AMDamn I just lost everything I wrote, anyway, the main gist of it was...Yep I know the power of the bloggers, but right now I really don't have the time as much as I would like to get into doing more of that. I have met quite a few and they are changing the focal points of media power. That is why when our new site launches you'll be able to blog there, as well as view various types of media. The internet is shaping the communications of the western world and you are right to say people should be using them. Anyway, feel free to drop some poetry my way. You would want to send it to 23@twenty3magazine.com, or directly to my account here as I rarely check this site now unless I have an e-mail at it. Anyway hope all is going well in you life.
